Bad breath among pets like cats and dog are a very common medical condition. Bad breath is an unpleasant odor coming out of the pet’s mouth.

The main cause of pet bad breath is periodontal disease. The small particles of food that remain on the teeth of a pet for a long time starts to decompose. This decomposed food causes the growth of bacteria and the combination of bacteria, decomposed food and saliva produces plaque. Plaque is a soft yellowish coating on the surface of the tooth which creates bad odor. If unchecked it hardens and becomes tartar. The tartar that builds up on the teeth causes infection, inflammation and redness of the gums. The tartar infects the area

where the gum and teeth meet and causes it to bleed separating the tooth from the gums. When the gums recede it breakdowns the structure that holds the teeth in the jaw. This way it creates more space for the bacteria and plaque to accumulate, worsening the situation and triggering bad breath. This tartar accumulation leads to periodontal disease and in severe cases the pet can even loose its teeth.

Herpes is defined as an infectious disease that causes painful spots on the skin especially on individual s face and sexual organs. The HSV or the Herpes Simplex Virus causes herpes. HSV is of two types- Type 1 and Type 2. Based on this Herpes 1 is distinguished from Herpes 2. Herpes 1 is mainly associated with fever, blister, and sores etc. while herpes 2 is understood to be genital infection. The type of herpes is detected by the symptoms and the nature of virus.

Type1 herpes is mainly a quiescent form of herpes. A person may be living with it since a long time but does not get to know due to no explicit perception of the disease.

The type1 herpes is usually caused by contact with an infectious person. This contact leads to the transfer of germs from the infected to the healthy person via saliva, sexual contact, breath etc. So herpes type1 can afflict you through kissing, sharing used and unwashed utensils, sharing drinks and food with an infected person, weak immune system and from mothers to their children during pregnancy.

into the esophagus due to the malfunctioning of a weak LES or lower esophageal sphincter which is the muscular band at the lower end of the esophagus and whose function it is to close the stomach opening and prevent stomach acid from entering the esophagus while ensuring that food from the esophagus enters the stomach. This acid that backs up into the esophagus triggers off the nerve endings in the esophagus and causes the burning sensation, familiar to all of us as heartburn. Chronic heartburn can cause inflammation of the esophagus and eventually lead to cancer, th.erefore if GERD is left untreated it can be fatal.
